Born in Punjab. Manjit Bawa studied at the College of Art, New Delhi, and then at the London School of Printing. During his stay abroad, from 1967 to 1971, he held a solo exhibition in London and then in Spain. Since then, apart from exhibiting at venues all over the country, Bawa has also participated in several major international exhibitions including ones at the Royal Academy, London (1982) the Hirschhom Museum, Washington D.C. (1982) the Grey Art Gallery, New York (1985), and in Geneva (1987). His works are in the collections of the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and the Punjab University. Manjit Bawa lives and works in New Delhi. |
