He has been awarded, Satyendranath Tagore award from college in 1994. Best work for National Integration Camp organized by Rishi Aurobindo ashram in Pondicherry in 1992. Somnath, lives and works in New Delhi. Born in 1969, Aasansol, West Bengal, he graduated from Gov. College of Art and Crafts, Kolkata in the year 1994. Somnath, has held solo shows in Jehangir art gallery, Mumbai, 2002, Krishna\'s collection art gallery, New Delhi, 2001 and M.E.C. Art gallery, New Delhi,1998.
