Kanwar Singh Pawar was born in New Delhi on the 3rd of Nov. 1964. He received his formal art education from College of Art, Delhi University, completing his BFA in 1987 and MFA in 1989. He was awarded the gold medal (1st prize) from College of Art in 1988. Other awards include the Sahitya Kala Parishad Award in 1989 and the All India Youth Art Exhibition Award in 1987. Kanwar has dabbled in a host of media, ranging from Oil, Acrylics, Water-Colours, Conte/Ink on paper etc. However his favourite medium has always remained Acrylics. Kanwar has held fourteen one man shows and participated in numerous shows and artist camps. Apart from painting Kanwar has installed several murals and sculptures at Public and corporate offices. His work are in the collections of art institutions and private art collectors. Kanwar is a Lecturer and is the in-charge of the print making section at the Delhi College of Art, Delhi University. He takes off to his studio in Goa in the summer and winter holidays to print and interact with nature.
